About

Melissa studied mainly art subjects in high school, including wood work, textiles, graphics, pottery, photography and metal work. It was metal work and jewellery making that she fell in love with, upon completion of her folio, Melissa was then accepted into RMIT Melbourne campus, to study for three years full time, to later obtain a Bachelor of Fine Art in Gold and Silversmithing.
"I love finding little treasures, shells, drift wood, leaves and especially feathers ♥ I've used feathers and skeleton leaves to emboss the metal, and they make wonderful imprints. Architecture also inspires me, I love the old Victorian homes and the character that they have. I have a soft spot for old Holdens and a project in the making, I appreciate the panel shapes and the craftsmanship, and they have so much character! I enjoy retro furniture, tinkering on craft projects and being out in nature, listening to the sounds, seeing the birds, and wild life, catching an amazing view or sunset, or just being outside with a warm breeze with the sun on my back. Creativity flows when you are clear and calm. All this gives me inspiration and reminds me to stop and smell the roses ♥"
